As the winters have descended upon us, our skins turn dry and patchy and even itchy sometimes. These are some of the common problems that we all need to handle during the winters. No doubt there are many face washes and creams and scrubs that are available in the market which promises to help our dry skin, but we all know that nothing helps better than the home remedies. So instead of rushing to the dermatologist and paying them a truckload or even trying out new products from the store that the salesperson suggests you, you can follow the following remedies(ways) to take care of our skin during this winter season:
1.Almond Oil therapy
Not many people know about it, but oil therapy is one of the best therapy to get rid of dry skin during the winters. Also, its very simple to apply too. We should just mildly rub some almond oil onto our hands and other body parts just prior to bathing. If you feel like, then you can just give yourself a mild warm massage too. That’s even better. By doing so, your skin will be able to retain moisture after the bath and hence will make our skin soft as well as smooth. You can even apply almond oil overnight and rinse it off the next morning. Also, all those lazy heads can also take care of their skin without having to step out of the bed from under the blanket. We all know how dreading that is. If you don’t like applying it on your skin, then you can just drink a warm milk mixed with one teaspoon of almond oil just before sleeping. 2. Aloe Vera Potion
We all know about the medicinal properties of aloe vera. It has soothing, antiseptic and antifungal properties. And these properties are a big help to us. It helps to get rid of dry skin and also skin irritation. It will also prevent flaking by slowly sloughing away the bad top layer of your dead skin cells. Nowadays, we can get aloe vera very easily. Just “big-basket” it guys!! You should just cut it open and then squeeze the gel out of the leaves. Then you have to gently rub the gel on your skin and let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes. This gel will form a protective layer on your skin which will protect your skin from any impurities. When the gel is about to dry, rinse it off with lukewarm water. Your skin will definitely feel better. Also, the results will be much better if you apply it twice a day. If you guys find it way too hard to squeeze out the gel from the aloe vera plant, then you can go the easy way. You can get a moisturizer made from pure aloe vera and use it regularly. The results might differ from using the fresh aloe vera, but still, you can try it.
3. Curd Facial
Everybody wants a glowing face. Especially during the winters when it remains dull or dry for most of the time. This remedy is actually quite cheap and will not require more than 10 minutes of your time. As we all know, curd has anti-bacterial properties as well as anti-oxidants which makes the skin soft and radiant. It can remove the harmful bacteria from our face as it has lactic acid present inside it. You can directly apply it on your face in circular motions and then let it dry for 10 minutes and then just rinse it off. For better results, you can mix a little bit of honey and a few drops of lime with the curd and then apply it for 10 minutes and then rinse it off. You will see the results yourself.
4. Lemon and Sugar Scrub
Lemon and Sugar face pack is yet another inexpensive and easy home remedy for glowing skin. It won’t take more than 10-15 minutes of your time. Lime is acidic in nature and is a source of vitamin C, it is useful in removing patches off your skin by acting as a good astringent and also stimulates the growth of new cells which gets rid of the dry skin. Also, it lightens the skin. Sugar, on the other hand, helps to lock the moisture and clean the skin. It’s a very easy remedy. You just need to mix the sugar and the lemon juice well and then use a cotton ball to scrub all over your dry areas. Gently rub the cotton ball on all your dry areas in a circular motion. After massaging for a good 10-15 minutes, you can rinse it off with lukewarm water. You can make a large mixture at one go and then keep it in an air-tight container or in a clean jar and then use it regularly.
5. Honey Pampering
As we all know, honey is known as the ”good friend” of the skin. It helps to soften the skin, also tighten it and moisturize dry skin. For this, you would require raw or pure honey. You have to directly apply the honey to the skin areas which are dry. You can massage for 2-3 minutes. For massaging, use your fingers gently and then wash it off with lukewarm water. In order to lock the moisture, you can use a moisturizer of the skin. By using moisturizer, better results are ensured. If this remedy is followed once per day, then it will definitely soothe your dry skin.
